Blogger won't let me post pictures right now. I have some great ones to post...
Meanwhile.... some thoughts and two little stories...
Cort still sleeps with his paci. I can't decide when to take it away. He has gone to sleep without before at night. I feel like night time would probably be okay but no so much with naps. He hasn't been napping so well recently so I am afraid to take it from him. He also has been waking up early in the morning and it seems finding his paci is the only chance at him going back to sleep. We plan on taking it by age 2 and quite possible before. I just can't decide when to do it. It's probably more for selfish reasons because I just don't feel like battling it. Plus, he's so cute with his "taci" and he doesn't have an issue leaving it in his crib. For example....
Yesterday morning Cort spotted a paci on the desk in our kitchen. I'm not sure why it was there, nor had I noticed, but Cort sure did. He was very excited about his taci being out and promptly grabbed it off the desk. Here's out it played out:
Me: "Did you find a paci?" Where does that need to go?"
Cort: sheepish grin, sticks paci in mouth
Me:"Cort, where does that paci go?"
Cort: "back, back"
Me: "That's right. It needs to go back in your crib."
Cort: walks from kitchen to room by himself, puts paci in the crib and returns to den to play
I was very proud.
2nd little story:
Unloading and loading the dishwasher is a bit of a struggle for me. For one, i hate to do it. But mostly it's a big no, no for Cort to touch it. It is not a rule that he readily obeys. Tonight as I was unloading the dishwasher before dinner, Cort came up to it but did not touch it. I praised him for not touching and then just decided to reward him by handing a piece of tubberware out of the dishwasher( he is allowed to play in the tubberware cabinet only). Cort promptly went to the cabinet and put the tubberware away. He returned to the dishwasher pointed to another piece without touching. I handed Cort all of the tubberware and he put it all away in the cabinet. What a good little helper. Now, what to do the next time I load it and there is no tubberware in it?????
