I thought you m might all forgive me for not posting sooner if I put a ton of pictures up. I had almost a month's worth on my camera and just hadn't found the time to download them until now.

Cohen is doing pretty well. He is smiling now so that's a lot of fun. He still sleeps a lot during the day - not something I am use to as Cort never slept. He is starting to lose his hair but there is already new hair there to replace it( same as Cort). Eating is a little better but we are still on the bottles. I took him off of the nutramigen( non milk based formula) as he was spitting up a lot on it and even projectile vomited - we want none of that this time around. He is on all breast milk( I am still not eating dairy) and hasn't spit up at all since that switch. He is taking the bottles a little bit better but not tons - I am going to try to start nursing some too in the next day or to so we'll see how that goes. I just keep praying that we won't have the long term eating issues we had with Cort. Maybe Cohen will outgrow it soon. When we went to his weight check yesterday she went ahead and did his 2 month well check so that I don't have to go back next week. :)
He was 7lbs 12 oz. and 19 inches long. He is doing well on development and got 5 vaccines - 1 oral and 4 shots. Yikes. He was not a fan!! Cort always cried with shots but not like this. Cohen screams that silent scream - the one that makes them go blue from holding their breath - not fun!! He did it last week when I get his April RSV shot but that nurse had said that the RSV shot is more painful than most vaccines so I wasn't quite expecting the same reaction yesterday. He recovered quickly though and was fine the rest of the day.

We had our very first family outing since Cohen was born. Until now we have just been switching off and keeping Cohen at home. We went to the park and ate dinner and then walked around downtown a bit and got gelato( they make some that is dairy free - yea!!) It was so nice to be out as a family - pushing that big double stroller that I didn't think I would need!!

As far as our colds go, we are all better and Cohen never got sick!! Praise God.
Chris is feeling better right now as far as pain level goes but he keeps getting really severely fatigued and dizzy. We are hoping to get some more answers and some effective treatment soon. Here is a funny story in the midst of all of the drama:

Last week when Chris had is really bad flare up - he came home from work early and we snuck him upstairs to the bonus room to lay down so that Cort wouldn't know he was home and get upset that he couldn't play with him. After Cort's nap, I took Cort outside to play. After about 10 minutes, Cort noticed Chris' car and our conversation went something like this:

Cort: "Daddy's Car?"
Me: Yes, that is Daddy's car.
Cort: " Daddy in new car?" ( maybe even our 2 year old knows the 1990 honda will need replacing soon!!)
Me: " No, Daddy doesn't have a new car."
Cort: quiet for a second and then.."" Daddy walking?"

My grandfather is out of the hospital and doing well as far as all of that goes. His heart looks good and won't need surgery. We did, however, find out that he has prostate cancer that has spread to his bones and possibly his lymp nodes too. Continue to pray for him as we discuss our options with doctors and for my mother as she tries to help take care of them from 3 hours away.

The first few weeks of being home with Cohen, Cort entertained himself doing new puzzles when I fed Cohen. He has been really into these jigsaw puzzles and does a great job doing them all by himself.

We have gone throught some stages of Cort wanting to climb all over me as I feed Cohen and this has been a bit difficult but we are working through that. The other day I was so pleased that Cort stayed in the den and continued to play as I fed Cohen in his room. I left Cort playing with his cars.... this is what I found when I finished feeding Cohen..... Might need to get a lock on the pantry door!!

Some more pics:

these little bears always bring a smile to Cohen's face:

Cort wanted to be like his brother: ( I know he looks like a different kid then we had with us at the park - this was just pre- haircut - by several weeks!!)

Cort and I went to a friend's tractor birthday party. Cort was thrilled to get to see all of his friends:

Gotta love a sleeping baby:

LOVE the new pictures! Both of your boys are precious:) It is so much fun when they start smiling at you! I could just eat them up when they start doing this. Makes up for all those feeding issues and spitting up! Yeah...looks like we are going the same route we did with the boys....she is quite the "spitter" and sometimes the distance is impressive. So much for no bibs this time around. This too shall pass. So glad you are able to put him back on breastmilk...will be praying that he takes to nursing well, his tummy remains calm, no more diaper rash and lots of weight gain! Hang in there girl, you are doing a great job. So proud of you for not giving up on the nursing this far. You are doing a great thing...and I know the pumping and feeding can grow weary on you. So glad to hear you all were able to get out and about. Normal family stuff! Can't wait to see the next set of pictures. m

I'm so glad that you are all doing better. I'll especially remember your grandfather in my prayers.

I'm glad you took Cohen off the Nutramigen. I really freaked when I read the ingredients. And they wonder why childhood diabetes is on the rise!

I'm glad you are using your double stroller! What a miracle to have Cohen in your lives given what the doctors all said.

I visit your blog, and usually I just read and say prayers for you, but I like to see your photos of Cohen-he's so adorable and cute! Both of them are, and that's a cute photo of what Cort did while you were feeding the baby. I wish I had thought to take some photos like that during those times with mine-too cute!

I'll still be praying for you all here in Myrtle Beach;)

I am so glad to come visit today and find your update. The pictures are so great. Your boys are beautiful and Cohen's smile is a heart melter. So good to hear that things are getting better, one day at a time, and that sickness has left your home. Still praying that Chris continues to heal and answers are found. And your first family outing must have felt so good and normal. I am happy for you and prayers continue here for you all.
Have a blessed weekend and keep making memories.

Love, Laurie in Ca.

So glad to see you got to get out a bit. I bet the fresh air was so nice. Cort is as cute as always! I think my favorite picture is of him putting tape on his face to be like his little brother. How funny! Cohen is just getting to be so big (or at least he looks that way in the pictures). He is just precious, Emily. I think he looks like Chris. Ok, enough rambling. I will keep praying for Chris and the rest of you. Much Love, Ash

Your boys are darling. Our boys are almost the same ages. I was having the same issue when I was nursing Levi...Lincoln would climb all over me. We found that play-doh worked wonders, & Foamies are a huge hit! I got them at Michael's & they're small stickers they can take the backing off & put on paper. He loves them & you can ooh & ahh & make him feel special for being creative.

Hi McGowan's! Greetings from the Jarvis' again. Thank you so much for all the pics. Cohen is such a funny little guy and Cort looks like such a big boy on his Manly Man tractor. We just got back from Sea World and despite all the distraction, I still could not help but think of you guys during the whale show called "Believe". Witnessing your awesome life story...We definately BELIEVE!!! Take care.
