Cort's class dressed up like Native Americans and the other 3K class dressed up like pimgrams( cort kept calling them mayflowers!!)

Cort sported his costume throughout the week at home!!

We hosted our first thanksgiving this year and loved it!! My parents, grandmother, and brother came up. It was the first holiday since my Paw-Paw passed away and I just thought it would be good to do something a little different. It was weird to not have him here but we were thankful for our time with family and knowing he was having a much greater day then just eating some turkey!!! I cooked a turkey for the second time ever and it went pretty well, i think. We did dinner instead of lunch and it was nice to just leisurely fix things through out the day. Our menu included, turkey, crock pot macaroni and cheese( my favorite!!), sweet potato casserole, green beans, butter beans, cornbread dressing, homemade cranberry sauce, and yeast rolls. Cort was excited to have everyone come and helped me make several decorations and treats for the day!!
Our little centerpiece...
turkey napkin rings
yummy tukeys...
It was a beautiful day and we were able to get some play time in while the food simmered...
i love this one...
We cranked the heat up but my Me- Maw was still cold( as always!!)..

Cohen playing with Uncle Ryan and a favorite little puppy, named Stabler( yes, Alison, we still call him that!!)
We had a full house for night time sleep but it all went pretty well. Cort went to sleep in Cohen's room and in the middle of the night, Chris ended up in there and Cort ended up in bed with me!! I didn't mind too much - gotta get the snuggles where you can!!
My family hung around the next day and we even started getting Christmas stuff down. We're always out of town the whole weekend of thanksgiving so we never get to decorate that early. I enjoyed that!!
We even went and got our tree that Saturday. Post to come. :)
I can't even begin to put into words how thankful we are for some many things!! I still can't believe it sometimes when I realize we're celebrating our 2nd round of holidays with BOTH our sweet boys!!
In case your curious...
It's time to be a turkey, wobble, wobble, wobble!
It's time to be a turkey, gobble, gobble, gobble!
It's thanksgiving day, and that's no fun!
It's time to be a turkey who can run, run ,run, run, run!!

Love your pics!
Interesting that you have a memaw. My oldest grandchild named me meema before a year old and it stuck. I like it too!
How's about printing your recipe for the crock pot mac n cheese? Sounds really yummy!

Whoo! I just caught up here and read your last post as well! I got to say, I love your Turkey decorations and treats! Yum! The center piece is awesome! Glad to see that you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! My oh my! What a trip you had to duPont! They are truly amazing doctors there aren't they?! I'm so sorry that we weren't able to meet up with you this time, but hopefully next time! Sonya would love to meet Cohen! The odonto part, is that referring to DI (dentinogenesis imperfecta)? Sonya has DI... Cohen is so fortunate that he doesn't have to go through that! SEMD was also a possibility for Sonya before she was diagnosed. There is a great website for info on it... I'll have to send it your way when I figure out where I wrote it down! Haha! Glad you had a great time in Philly too!!!
Em, I'm so glad the name stuck!!! Surprising b/c it's not too easy of a name for kids to say! Also, I just read your last post..not sure how I missed it the first time. Anyway, thanks for the updates...it is amazing to me how much knowledge you have on everything...you sound like you could write a book! We are praying for you guys.....your boys are so precious. Hopefully we will get to see y'all soon!
