Cort turned 14 months old! We just keep creeping away from the 1 year mark. This month has been an absolute blast. Cort is so much fun. His personality just bubbles over from all sides and he learns and grows more everyday.
He is definitely a walker now. He still can't get up from the floor on his own and this really frustrates him but he prefers to be on his feet and when he falls he immediately says up, up, up - requesting that I put him back on his feet. He doesn't have the best balance and falls pretty frequently ( i think he tries to go faster then he can yet) but hasn't had any major injuries yet!!
With his new walking he now has a couple pairs of real big boy shoes. I think he looks really cute in his tennis shoes. He thinks they are pretty cool too since they are just like mom and dad's. He will pick up his shoes and try to put them on his feet or mine.
He is such active little boy. He climbs or tries to climb everything!!! He loves being outside and explores everything. He loves animals and is very into birds right now. If we say bird he starts looking out the window and when he hears them he says, bur, bur, bur and looks everywhere trying to find it.
His communication just continues to explode. I haven't sat down recently and made a list but I'll have too soon before I forget all his new words. I think the biggest difference in his communication is that he is starting to be more informative instead of just labeling things. He uses his signs more and more to tell me things and has added please to his signs but uses it very selectively. The other day we were in the den about an hour after breakfast and he just came up to me and said "gogur"(yogurt). He has been saying this word but usually only if he is in his highchair, he sees the yogurt, or I ask him if he wants it. I went to the kitchen and got the yogurt and he gobbled it up, very satisfied that I knew what he wanted.
He continues to love books - I love this. I keep being fearful that the phase would pass but I think it's hereto stay. He LOVES dancing to music. He will request music by standing up and swaying his hips side to side. He thinks it's great if I dance with him. He imitates more and more things- he is currently very into "washing his hands." He wipe them together when I get out the lotion, soap, or waterless soap. He also likes to wipe his hands on the kitchen towels. It's so funny the things that they pick up on.
Another great month passed - another great month to come. I just love my little boy!!!
