Crafty

It has been an incredibly hectic year for us and I have struggled with feelings of guilt over the attention Cort hasn't gotten over the past year. I have struggled with the fact that I have had weeks where almost everyday he has gotten dropped off at someone else's house for hours and when we're home there have been long seasons of days where I ask him to entertain himself often while it takes me an hour to feed Cohen 6 times a day.
Things are a little more calm here and there but more than anything, i am just adjusting and finding our rhythym.
Cort LOVES arts and crafts so that is one way I have been trying to spend special time with him. We dove in head first with some fall crafts.....

We made props for our 5 LIttle Pumpkins book...

Another one from FlipFlops and Applesauce....

And one we got from Family Fun magazine....

Not a craft but worth documenting....

I totally let Cort eat out of this muffin tin for dinner the other day....don't know what prompted him to ask for it....
but after almost saying no automatically, I thought, Why not? He was alreadly having a unhealthy Unhomecooked meal.. why not out of a muffin tin....

Every so often Cort decides it's time for some musical jamming in the McGowan household.... we all participated this night....

Out of his mouth when I said it was time for nap, "No, I'm not tired, I'm playing choo choos" Not tired? You decide.

I love dinner out of the muffin tin! I also truly love that your child will eat veggies--Jackson would look at me like I was crazy if I ever offered him green beans (but maybe if I put them in a muffin tin he'd think it was a game!)

the crafts are super cute. Cort looked so serious when he was painting, too sweet.

Emily, kudos to you for saying yes to the muffin tin dinner plate! :)
Sometimes as moms (at least for me, anyway)it seems like we are constantly saying No, No, No. It is nice to say yes occasionally. I LOVE the pumpkins for your 5 pumpkins book. Too cute!
