We kicked it off with our annual trip to SkyTop to pick yummy apples. This year, there weren't a lot of apples left on the trees but we still had a blast and brought home plenty to eat!! I've been the most successful this year with using up our apples in yummy ways... we made apple dumplings for dessert one night and made and froze extras of apple pancakes, applesauce, apple muffins, and apple pie filling. Yum!!! The pancakes have been a huge hit and the boys have loved having them in the mornings for breakfast. I have a few apples left to do something with and I think I'll make another few batches of those and freeze them.
We didn't know it at the time, but Cohen was developing a fever while we were at the apple orchard...he wasn't his usual happy self and looking back at the pics I can tell the illness was setting in.(it ended up just being a quick 24 hour fever virus of sorts) and we still had a great time...
Cort's annual pic by his name( no, we didn't name him after the apple!!)... you can see his first one in this post

Cohen loved rolling this apple off the bench for me to catch...

notice the little tongue roll...

making apple muffins...I borrowed one of those big apple peeler things( Thanks, Marsha!!) and it was great!!!!

There are still plenty of leaves left on the trees around here but enough have started to fall that we raked up a decent little pile for a little jumping one afternoon...

and really, is there much else cuter than little baby shoes?
well, except for maybe this...

This past weekend we went to our annual place to get our pumpkins! The ground was super wet from the insane amount of rain we had so we couldn't play as much as we usually do but the boys had a blast and we got some cute pics. We love going here... we bought 5 pumpkins for $8!!! (some were tiny ones, but still!!)
and just because I wish I looked this cute when I have a fever...
