Chris hadn't left for work so he got to see him too. We got him up and brought him to the kitchen where we had ' Today is Your Birthday' by the Beatles playing pretty loudly. Cort thought it was great and was laughing and bouncing to the music. I tried to cook him an egg for his birthday breakfast but he would have nothing to do with it. We then went to publix to get balloons for his birthday pictures.
We was thrilled to have that many balloons at one time. Pictures went well and after a good nap we played outside with his balloons.
When Chris got home he took him for a little spin on the skateboard.
We had breakfast for dinner ( maybe a future birthday tradition?)
(and yes, those are peas on his plate - a mother's last attempt to get a veggie in that day), even if it doesn't go with theme of the dinner!)
And then the presents. At Christmas, Cort was not very interested in opening presents but he got pretty into it on his birthday. We gave Cort a chair from pottery barn kids with his name on it, a book, and a puzzle. He helped rip off all of the paper and he really seemed to like all of them a lot.
Next, the cupcake. He really didn't get that into at all at first. I don't think he liked the chocolate icing. He did eat a little of the cupcake with some enthusiasm and then began to feed the rest of it to Chris and I. Sweet boy.
A good bath to get cleaned up and off to bed!!!
Overall, I think he had a great day!! Can't wait for the party!!!
