We went last week for Cort's one year well check. For the most part everything went fine. His development is right on track. His stats were:
weight: 17lbs 2oz ( 3%)
height: 29" ( 25-30%)
We are hoping that the weight gain would have been a little better if he hadn't gotten so sick over Christmas. He did gain all the weight he lost from being sick back within 3 weeks with 3 extra ounces so that was encouraging. We have started giving him carnation instant breakfast in his milk once a day and are doing lots of calorie booster tricks. It's wierd for me to switch my mindset from really healthy eating to fattening up eating. I am still trying to keep his diet healthy but am having to be a little more willing with some foods. If the weight gain isn't a little better by 15 months we will run some tests to make sure there is no medical reason for him continuing to drop in percentiles. We don't think there is. In the midst of all that he was completely refusing to eat for a little over a week but has started to eat again.
A few new developments and some pics:
* no more bottles( we were going to keep the night time in for a while for extra calories but he won't take it anymore)
* new words: ball, sock, balloon, dog
* stacking blocks( a small one on a big one)
* shaking his head no and actually connecting the meaning
Thanks for Grammie for helping out with my party:
MMMM, nothing like a big fat roll:
Only my son gets leg stuck in the ball popper because he tried to ride on it
(and yes I took a picutre first - he thought it was funny)
After a nice wagon ride, Cort pushed the wagon all over our back yard for
quite some time. strong boy.
