Daddy's Back and funny Cort stories

Several of you of asked recently - sorry I haven't posted about it but Chris started taking Humira several weeks ago and we saw an immediate difference. He is feeling much better. We are so thankful that we were able to see the right doctors at the right time. Thanks for everyone's prayers. Continue to pray that the medicine will work. Ultimately, we would love it if he wasn't dependent on the medication but we are grateful for it int he meantime!!

I don't post about Cort near as much as I use to - trying not to feel guilty about that!! I wanted to document a few funny things he has been saying - more for my own sake of documenting it but if you enjoy "toddlerisms" - read on!

Cort now gets the concept that when we aren't out of something - say crackers - that Mommy can get some "new" crackers at the store. Several weeks ago we heard the ice cream truck and Cort got very excited - i told him that Mommy didn't have any money - he thought for a second and said, "Mommy go to store, get new money." Oh - wouldn't that be nice?

We were watching Dumbo the other day and all of a sudden Cort got very excited and said, "that looks like Cort". I said, "who looks like Cort?" He said, "Gumbo"(Dumbo). I said, " You think you look like Dumbo?" (anxious to hear what similarity he found between himself and an elephant) Cort said, "Yes, he has blue eyes" Seemed pretty observant to me!

Yesterday morning Cort came to wake me up - I put my arms out(hanging off the bed) to bring him into bed with me. Cort didn't want to get in bed with me - he wanted me to get up so he pulled on one arm and when I didn't get up. He stopped looked at the arm he was pulling - looked at my other arm and grabbed it and said, " Hmmmm, maybe this one will work." It did - my little problem solver.

Just a little phrase he's been using that I think is cute. When ever he wants to play something or request something different than he has or I suggest he says, "How 'bout _____" For example, " Cort, here's the blue crayon. " Corts says, " How 'bout red." Or , "Cort, do you want to go in the front yard." "hmm, How 'bout backyard." He even does it when he's playing by himself and picks our a new car, color, or a new toy to play with. Might just be me - but I find it cute.
