Mr. Independent

Cort gets more and more into wanting to do things himself these days. The current battle is that if I have a spoon and a bowl, he thinks he must also have a spoon and bowl. Wouldn't be a problem if he could totally feed himself with the spoon. He tries......

Maybe two hands would be better......

He is also into pouring. When he plays in the tubberware cabinet he always gets out a pitcher and a bowl and "pours" into the bowl with a pitcher. the other day he was sitting on the counter in front of me while I poured his milk. A bottle of syrup was on the counter and he picked it up and "poured" it into his cup. So funny the things they pick up.

He has truly become that finicky toddler eater. A few nights ago we made pizza for dinner - which he usually likes. He wouldn't eat a single bite. I tried it the next day and he gobbled it up!! I had to give it to him again tonight because our dinner wasn't ready yet. I started breaking it up into smaller pieces and he grabbed the big piece out of my hand and proceeded to eat off of it. He never would eat the pieces I broke up but went to town on the whole piece.

HEY EMILY! I found some Gerber larger size spoon and fork with a short handle and they are perfect for tal to use when feeding himself- totally messy still but more is hitting his mouth!!

Tal likes the lil' trainer tableware- I really like the bowl it came with- but if you don't need or want the bowl with the spoon and fork - i know they sell just the fork and spoon sets=) hope this might help=)
