So Cort and Cohen both have ear infections...again.
This is Cort's 6th one 8 months and it's Cohen's 4th in 4.5 months so....
off to the ENT we go. Not sure when the appointment will be but their Doc predicts that Cort will have tubes by halloween but that we'd see what the ENT says about Cohen...might want him to get a little older but good to have him followed.
I 'm on board with this - i am tired of so many antibiotics being pumped into theri bodies and feeling like everytime Cort has a runny nose we have to go the doctor. I am there enough as it is and even though the visits are necessary it just makes me feel like I'm one of those mom's that's always running to the doctor.
Cohen doesn't really seem sick so that's a praise. Cort has a nasty cold so hopefully he'll feel better soon. Pray that Cohen does get any of the respiratory stuff that Cort has.
It makes me a bit nervous that it's just the beginning of October and Cort has already had 2 colds. Both times he's had colds, Cohen has seemed to pick it up to some extent even though he hasn't really been too sick. I am not sure how to keep a 2.5 year olds germs at bay!!!! I am thankful that the repiratory issues have remained small for Cohen... ie last time cort had a cold it lasted like 10 days but Cohen's symptoms only lasted about 2 days!! I guess Mommy's milk really does help!!! Plus, I am really thankful for the infections to go to the ears and not the chest. If we have to take something, we'll take ears!!!

I'm so sorry that both the boys are sick in the ears! Jackson just had his very FIRST ear infection about 2 weeks ago and it was like wrestling a greased pig to get the antibiotics into him for 10 days! He's going in for his ear check tomorrow, so hopefully it'll be clear!
we put tubes in t's ears last week after realizing he had been on TEN rounds of antibiotics this year. TEN?? and i CANNOT TELL YOU how easy that surgery was. seriously. i wish we had done it sooner. it was a piece of cake. no IV, he was out of our sight for about 10 minutes. i'm hoping this fall/winter will be much better than the last.
praying for your little guys.

Hi Emily-if you have a choice in who you see, we highly recommend Dr. Phillips at Greenville ENT. Addison hasn't had many ear infections, but our 5 year old Caitlyn did. We eventually opted not to do tubes b/c her infections stopped, but we went back to Greenville ENT for her adenoids. Dr. Phillips just removed them and he was wonderful! He personally called us the night of her surgery to check on her. Good luck with Cort and Cohen!

Ear infections are no fun! Madeline has had tubes put in twice. It's not a big deal, but no mommy wants to put her baby under anesthesia.
Yay, Cohen, for rolling to your tummy! What a milestone. And Cort, you have some cute comments.
Your boys are precious!

I hate germs, the NICU turned me into a phobic mess. I pray Cohen stays healthy, Go mommy's milk!
Praying for both of your boys Emily and for respiratory issues to stay away from Cohen. You sure a good mom to stay on top of this when it first happens. I hope it all gets under control for you soon. It might be a good idea to get Cort a flu shot this season if he is old enough for it. It can be so much nastier than colds ever get. Just a thought:) Being a grandma now, I worry about these things. I love you guys and will be praying.
Love, Laurie in Ca.
PS. Alright and Great Job Cohen for rolling over and showing his strength. This is great and makes you so proud I am sure. I am proud of him too. Okay, Bye!!
get better guys!!!
I will be praying for all of you! Poor little guys!
oh man been there-- done all this... still dealing with it... Ear infections... antibiotics... tubes... It is hell until they get them in...
I hope that you have a good experience with them... we did!
I will be praying for everything to go well at the ENT. My nephew had tubes put in and it made a world of difference. I will be praying for Cort and especially Cohen to get better in the meantime!
I hope both of them are free from cold germs soon. One of the hardest things I've learned is that you CAN'T prevent everything, no matter how hard you try. But we can't help trying, huh? Your milk is, I'm certain, one of the best things you give him for preventing some of it, and probably making things much less severe.
