4 months old

This is very late as we are now closer to 5 months than 4 months but here it is none the less... his 4 month post....

It thrills me to no end to do these monthly posts - I did them for cort until he was over a year and I just love that this blog now includes 4 monthly posts of Cohen.

Cohen changed a lot from 3 to 4 months - it sort of feels like he came out of his shell!
He started laughing this month ( around 3.5 months) and that's been a ton of fun. He's a little stingy with his laughs though. He smiles a tons and does so with his whole face. Sometimes his face looks like he's laughing but there's no laugh coming out!

He is quite the little talker. He coos and jabbers all day and when he really gets started he just gets louder and louder. Too cute.

He is a total wiggle worm. I mean, seriously, this boy does not stop moving. His little arms and legs are constantly flailing when he gets excited.

He is so expressive! He raises his eyebrows all the time at people and things - very funny.

He has started reaching for and grabbing objects more and more and he loves his hands. He is always playing with them and putting his fingers in his mouth. He'll suck on his pointer finger on occasion but not a ton. He does not take a paci - he doesn't care for them at all.

He still likes his kick toy and has started to enjoy his play gym more and more. We have this little panda bear hanging toy that he really likes. He always talks to him and gets really excited.

He still eats every three hours. This month we had an all time record with good eating though that stopped after about 2 weeks. He sleeps great - taking 1-2 hour naps in between each feeding and then sleeps from about 7-7 at night with dream feed at about 10:30 and one middle of the night waking. He slept from 10:30 - 6:30 one night. He still likes sleeping on his side at this point.

He still hates tummy time though he lifts his head a little bit now.

At 4 months, he weighed 9lbs 14 oz and was around 20.5 inches. Summer clothes are pretty easy - onesies and one piece shorts outfits fit him well. He wears preemie or newborn the best, though some preemie is too short for his torso. He has a handful of 0-3 that fit but most of those are too big.

I remember staring to really enjoy this stage with Cort and Cohen hasn't disappointed!!! Those smiles are certainly worth getting up for morning!!

HE IS SO ADORABLE!:) Thank you for sharing those pictures. Bennett has that same 4th of July outfit and, I'm guessing, loves the same panda that Cohen does! Your lucky, you have a great sleeper...our Bennett is a sleepy-bear as well. What a 4 month old little miracle.

What a great way to start my day...I've been hoping to hear an update about our little miracle guy. I remember that age with our girls and I agree they are among the greatest! One insight I noticed though... it is that I have had a tendency to say that about every age of watching little ones develop! Praise the lord that we all get to watch Cohen grow and develop and I look forward to you also constantly repeating the phrase "...this is the best age to watch our gifts from GOD grow!"

Hi. I've been a lurker for several months, but have never posted. Just wanted to tell you that Cohen is one of the cutest babies I have ever seen. I'd love to reach through the screen and pinch those cute cheeks. Adorable. I know you are so proud of him!! Simply sweet.

HI!! Someone just referred me to your site tonight and boy, am I glad she did......my daughter, Madeline, has a rare form of dwarfism too. Our geneticist says she is one of about 40 known cases in the world. I enjoyed reading your genetics post. I, too, take Madeline's diagnosis with a grain of salt. I am not in denial--she has a form of dwarfism. There is no denying that. However, she doesn't fit all the characteristics of Desbuquois Dysplasia. I say she has Madeline Dysplasia--one unique to her. I would say Cohen has Cohen Dysplasia too. :)

Please feel free to check out my blog. It should link to my name and picture but in case it doesn't it is: www.thinkpinkalicious.blogspot.com

I think we'd have a lot to chat about! Madeline just turned four. If I can be of any assistance or support, please do not hesitate to ask.

God bless,
Sara
