NICU update

We were just at the NICU and things continue to look good. We talked to the NICU doctors and they continue to be positive but proceeding with caution as we still have no answers or definite prognosis.
They are going to let me try to nurse him at his 4:00 feeding and see how he tolerates that. Yea!!! I don't think I mentioned that he was almost back up to his birth weight already last night - he 5 lbs and 4 oz. I expect that that could go down as we begin to stop the tube feedings but it's great that we get to start there.
They still aren't telling me when he can go home but they do talk about him going home. It seems that if he continues on the rate he is that it will be coming home in a matter of days to weeks vs. months but we'll see.
On another note, I am only taking motrin!!!! Praise God.

Reading all of the positive news and updates just proves the power of prayer and how faithful our God is. I am so happy for you all and will continue to pray for Cohen's health, strength and growth.

Please play for us too as we are expecting to deliver our baby girl Eva in 9 days, who was diagnosed w/ full trisomy 18 at 13 weeks of my pregnancy.

I have faith that God's plan is far more perfect than mine...even if I do not understand.

Woo hoo for the Motrin! C-sections can really knock you down! I couldn't sit up (without pulling or pushing on something) for weeks after mine! I'm praying for a quick recovery....and of course, praying for sweet little Cohen, who by the way, is beautiful!!!!! I continue to be overjoyed at the thought of his precious life! Love to all of you!

Wow--God just continues to pour out blessings on you...yeah for motrin!! What an incredible time 4:00 will be for you--something yet again unexpected. God is a champ at granting the unexpected, isn't HE?!!

On another note, I cannot believe you are doing all the posting on your own now...how do you find the time?! MORE THAN HAPPY to do anything I can for you guys and your family if anything is needed.

Continuing to pray for God to strengthen ALL of you and for long life for Cohen and for more baffled doctors worldwide!

The pictures are priceless-love them.

Hugs...

Emily, Chris, Cort and Cohen,

We read about your story on our friends' blog (the Gainors, Brandy and Gray...Brandy McKinney from Clemson). When I read her post and then came to your blog and read and wept for quite some time, my heart was so moved. I was so encouraged by your faith and dependence on God throughout your entire pregnancy and we too are praying for Baby Cohen. He is beautiful and we have prayed for him everyday as a family and are believing God for his complete and total healing and divine and perfect health. When our oldest son, Joshua, was born, his lung collapsed and he had to spend time in the NICU with a chest tube. Our third son also required oxygen and NICU treatment at birth. My father-in-law gave me this verse when we were at the hospital and now I want to share it with you and let you know that we have been claiming this verse for Cohen..."the Spirit of God has made me, the breath of the Almighty keeps me alive." I also love Isaiah 58:8. God's hand is all over Cohen and we have been inspired and moved by your story. We also have shared your story with others and many more in PA are praying for you.

Your new friends from PA,
The Dellers (Steve, Tabitha, Joshua, Caleb, Nathan and Isaac)

By the way, the reference for that verse is Job 33:4..."the Spirit of God has made me, the breath of the Almighty keeps me alive." Just forgot to tell you the reference. We just put the boys to bed and prayed for Cohen.

Believing God for BIG things,
Tabitha Deller

Baby Cohen,

You are such a precious little angel. What a miracle and blessing you are to many, many people. You are a luckly little fellow to have such a wonderful mommy and daddy, big brother, a fan club praying for you, and most importantly a Father in heaven who is cradling you in His arms. We are praying and rejoicing with you all.
Love,
The Lees (Jason, Emily and Harrison)

Hey. It's Ashley. I was your nurse yesterday. I cannot stop thinking about the miracle you have experienced. I had to check out the blog. I am so impressed with your amazing faith and constant belief that God could and would heal your son. At a time that I am sure it would have been so much easier to think of yourself and your loss...you have had such an attitude if faith. You have created a situation that God can be GLORIFIED. He has chosen your family to show us His miracle. He has honored your faith and blessed us ALL. I hope you don't mind if I follow your blog. It is amazing. I have an amazing group of friends. If it is O.K., I will tell them your story. We will commit to pray for you and the continued HEALING.

Always remembering...The ONE who "CREATED OUR INMOST BEING...KNITTING US TOGETHER IN OUR MOTHERS WOMB".. Psalm 139;13
He knew the number of Cohen's days a long time ago.

Please let me know if there is anything I can do for you...
